Local Philanthropy
The Northwest Suburban Alumnae Association is a very philanthropic group!
Projects are supported through our generous members and their fundraising efforts.
Kappa Kare Bags
The Kappa Kare Bag fundraiser enables the NWSAA to support collegiate Kappas in the Chicagoland area and raise money to support the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation and other philanthropic endeavors. Each year NWSAA members create Kappa themed totes packed with great finals study snacks, treats and items of encouragement. These Kappa Kare Bags serve as a wonderful reminder that Kappa sisters and family members back home are thinking of the women at Elmhurst College and Loyola University as they prepare for exams.
Holiday Sharing
Our association participates in the Holiday Sharing program, which is part of the ΚΚΓ Foundation. Through the program each year, we are given the name of a Kappa member who has requested assistance. Our co-chairmen select holiday gifts/cards based on a list from that member and ensure the Kappa gets them in time for the holidays.
Mental Health and Well Being
NWSAA supports Kappa Kappa Gammas philanthropic partners, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness0 and NEDA (the National Eating Disorder Association). Locally, the Kenneth Young center provides mental health services to northwest suburban residents and we have been able to connect with them to support their work.
Feed My Starving Children is a local organization that utilizes volunteers to pack food that is shipped to areas of the world where is it needed. NWSAA regularly schedules times to help this organization in their mission.
